A wonderful week of nature!

This past week has brought warm temperatures in the 60s, 70s, and 80s in CT, and that brought the hundreds of dormant animals out of inactivity instantaneously! Here is a quick photo diary of this week:

Pics 1-2: A pair of Mute Swans nesting in downtown Westport CT, read their and their river's story here: http://06880danwoog.com/2013/04/12/this-is-our-river-and-it-is-filthy/

Pics 3-6: A large Wood Frog that was found in my brook in Westport CT

Pics 7-9: An Common Garter Snake found in Wilton CT

Pics 10-13: An invasive Red-eared Slider male that was found in my lake in Westport CT

Pics 14-15: A very large Common Snapping Turtle found crossing roads between ponds in Westport and Weston CT

Pic 16: Two Killdeer eggs were laid at Wakeman Town Farm in Westport CT, since then there have been two more laid, more on that to come!

I hope you enjoyed this week's Wild Side of Westport post!
